Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Credit Sorted ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use our website and sign up for our free guide, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

1. Who we are

Credit Sorted provides educational information to help UK consumers understand and improve their credit files. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@creditsorted.co.uk. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What data we collect

We do not ask for, or store, sensitive financial details such as full credit report data, bank account numbers, or payment card numbers on this site.

3. How we use your data, and our lawful basis

4. Email marketing

We send our emails using MailerLite, which stores subscriber data on our behalf as a data processor. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time — we act on unsubscribe requests promptly.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our service, and only as needed:

Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK/EU-approved transfer mechanisms) are in place.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our active marketing lists.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access the data we hold about you; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to its processing; request portability; and withdraw consent at any time (this won't affect processing already carried out). To exercise any of these, email hello@creditsorted.co.uk.

8. Cookies & analytics

We use only essential cookies needed to run the site, plus privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

9. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can help. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
